When it's cold outside a good, warm bowl of chili just hits the spot!!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 small white onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 T chili seasoning
  • 1 can V-8 beverage
  • 2 (15 oz) red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (14.5 oz can) diced fire roasted tomatoes
  • 1 (4.5 oz can) diced green chilis, undrained
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Midway through browning and beef add the onion. Discard any extra grease that cooks out.
  4. Add garlic add allow to cook for about a minute.
  5. Add the rest of the ingredients and lower the heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes to one hour.
  6. Top with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Bloody Mary Mix is a good substitute for V-8.
