Chili
Cozy up on the couch with a steaming bowl of homemade chili with crackers or cornbread, and you have yourself a comforting meal to warm your bones on a cold winter day!
Chili
When it's cold outside a good, warm bowl of chili just hits the spot!!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 small white onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 T chili seasoning
- 1 can V-8 beverage
- 2 (15 oz) red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (14.5 oz can) diced fire roasted tomatoes
- 1 (4.5 oz can) diced green chilis, undrained
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large pot over medium high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Midway through browning and beef add the onion. Discard any extra grease that cooks out.
- Add garlic add allow to cook for about a minute.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and lower the heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes to one hour.
- Top with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Bloody Mary Mix is a good substitute for V-8.
