Taco Salad with Pancho’s Salad Dressing
If the old saying is true, the clothes make the man, then it is true that the dressing makes the salad! This copycat Pancho’s Tropicale Salad Dressing is the absolute best topping for a taco salad. Pancho’s was a restaurant in West Memphis, Arkansas and it was a destination! Although the restaurant has shuttered its doors the company is still making their legendary, delicious cheese dip and salsa.
Taco Salad with copycat Pancho's Tropicale Salad Dressing
This salad dressing will spoil you into thinking you can never have a taco salad without it!
Ingredients
Taco Seasoning
- 2 T chili powder
- 2 t cumin
- 1 1/2 t paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 t ground oregano
Salad Dressing
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1/3 c vinegar
- 1/2 c oil
- 1 T yellow prepared mustard
- 2 tsp ground oregano
- 3 green onions
- Combine ingredients and process until smooth in blender or food processor
Salad fixings
- 1 bag of your favorite tortilla chips
- 1 head of ice burg lettuce, washed and torn into bite size pieces
- Grated sharp cheddar cheese
- Enter your favorite salad additions here. The sky is the limit!
Instructions
- Brown 1# of hamburger meat of your choice. Add seasoning and simmer.
- Combine ingredients and process until smooth in blender or food processor. Store covered in the fridge.
- Layer your tortilla chips, taco meat, shredded cheese and you favorite salad toppers
- Top salad with dressing and enjoy
