Baked Ham With a Delicious Glaze
A baked ham is perfect for a holiday dish and the leftovers are enjoyed in sandwiches, sliders and for flavoring dried beans and peas.
Baked Ham with Red Currant Jelly Glaze
A baked ham is so easy to make and the glaze makes the perfect pairing!
Ingredients
Baked Ham
- 1 ham of choice (I'm using a 2 lb presliced ham)
Red Currant Jelly Glaze
- 1 c currant jelly
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- 2 T prepared horseradish
Making the Glaze
- Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Coat the ham the last 30 minutes of bake time.
Baking the Ham
- Preheat oven to 325F (163C).
- Place ham in an appropriate sized baking sheet. Pour in some water to cover the bottom. This will keep the ham from drying out. Tightly cover with tin foil.
- Bake 20 - 30 minutes per pound. The ham is ready to go at 145F (63C).
- Remove from oven and remove the tin foil. Baste with desired ham glaze.
- Raise the oven heat to 425F (218C). Place back in oven and bake for 15 minutes, remove from the oven and baste with glaze. Return to the oven. Repeat this process until the ham is glazed to your liking.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
