Chocolate Covered Cherries
Christmas time brings on all the wonderful traditions and also the stores are stocked with once a year treats. Chocolate Covered Cherries are a yearly addition to the store shelves but being adventurous in the kitchen, I found a recipe that is SO very delicious and easy to make. These taste like the Cordial Cherry’s but the center doesn’t get goopy and messy. Win Win!!!
chocolate Covered Cherries
Start a new Christmas tradition by making this delicious little candies in your home.
Ingredients
- 1 jar Marashino cherries, drained and dried
- 1/4 c butter, room temperature
- 3 c powdered sugar
- 1/4 c sweetened condensed milk
- 4 t vanilla
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 c shredded coconut (optional)
- Melting chocolate of choice
Instructions
- Place drained and dried cherries on paper towel and freeze to roll better.
- Mix remaining ingredients until mixed well. Shape into ball or disc, wrapp in plastic wrap and chill.
- Pinch off a piece about the size of an egg yolk. Flatten in hands or a manner that works for you.
- Using a melting chocolate of your choice, (amount will depend on how many cherries you have), melt and dip chilled cherries and place on wax paper. Store in an air tight container.
