Gluten Free Manicotti with Homemade Spaghetti Sauce
This dish is one of my husbands favorite dishes! He isn’t Gluten Free and he says he can’t tell the difference. That’s high praise, for sure!!
Manicotti With Homemade Spaghetti Sauce
This is equally as delicious using Gluten Free manicotti pasta as it is with regular manicotti!
Ingredients
Pasta Sauce
- 1 (15oz) Tomato sauce
- 2 tsp dried parsley
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp basil
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Add 1lb cooked ground beef if desired
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into a sauce pan, stir to combine. Cook over medium-low heat until it begins to bubble. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Ground beef, ground venison or ground turkey can be added if desired.
Filling
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 c Parmesan cheese
- 1 (15oz) ricotta cheese
- Combine all ingredients and set aside.
Topping
- 8 oz Mozzarella, shredded
Assembling the Manicotti
- Cook pasta according to the package. Lay a layer of sauce in your dish. Stuff the pasta with the cheese mixture and place in prepared baking dish. Top with the rest of the sauce. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190.55°C) for 45 minutes. Remove cover and top with grated mozzarella cheese, bake for 10-15 more minutes until bubbly.
